12 Reasons to Attend Your 20 Year High School Reunion

12 Reasons To Attend Your 20 Year High School Reunion:

  1. Laugh, cry and reminisce with some of your oldest friends.
  2. You don't have to lie about your age.
  3. Rekindle old or begin new relationships.
  4. Enjoy an evening out without the kids, or even the grand kids, as the case may be.
  5. A great excuse to buy new clothes, get your hair done, get a manicure, etc.
  6. Have an excuse to cut a rug.  No reason to feel silly about bustin' out the robot, cabbage patch or the hammer because we're all the same age and we all can relate.
  7. Slide show presentation.
  8. Football, band and graduation video footage.
  9. An opportunity to catch up with former SHS teachers/coaches at the day picnic.
  10. Door prizes, food and cake!
  11. It's the one night out of every 10 years that you get to feel 18 again. PLUS,
  12. Studies have shown (not sure of the source, but trust me)  that those who were initially hesitant about attending their reunions, discover that it was an event they wouldn't have missed!
DON'T MISS IT !! Next Saturday ! :>

CLASS PICNIC INFORMATION

Updated information concerning the CLASS PICNIC:

As you know, the picnic will take place at Reynolds Field (the old Pickle Field) in Wiggins on Saturday, October 15th from 11 a.m. - 1 p.m.  We have confirmed that our very own Marcus Hinton (aka Boo) has agreed to cater the event.  He will be cooking smoked chicken quarters, hamburgers and hot dogs.  The price is $6 per plate which includes your choice of chicken,  hot dog or hamburger along with potato salad and baked beans and a canned drink or bottled water.

Marcus needs a total number of guests and whether each guest prefers chicken, a hot dog or a hamburger at least a week before the picnic so that he can pick up his supplies.  Feel free to pay for your lunch tickets at the picnic (or you can mail in your money early if you like-- hint hint ;}) but PLEASE send us an RSVP note in advance that indicates how many people in your family plan to eat at the picnic and their choice of food so  that we will be sure to have enough food for everyone.  If at all possible, we need this information at least one week prior to the picnic (October 8th).  Thanks :>

Invitation Letter

STONE HIGH SCHOOL CLASS OF 1991 - 20 Year Reunion

It’s hard to believe that it has been 20 years since we left Stone High School - OUCH!  Even though it has been a while, we can still party like the best of ‘em! We have many exciting events planned for our 20 year reunion which will be held during Homecoming weekend (October 14th and 15th) -- so put on your best pair of acid washed jeans (tight rolled), grow out your mullet, mousse up your hair and come join your classmates in celebration of 20 years!

We plan to make a memory book to be given out at the reunion or shortly thereafter so please take a moment to fill out the questionnaire posted on this site and mail it to us.  If you would rather fill in a Word or WordPerfect version of the questionnaire/RSVP form, you can send us a request and we will e-mail you one.  Send requests to tomcats1991@gmail.com.  Even if you are unable to attend the reunion, your classmates will be interested to learn more about you and your life so please take a minute to let us all know what you have been up to these last 20 years.

Also, we ask that you send us any old pictures of classmates that you may have. These will be included in a slide presentation and/or the memory book. The bigger the hair, the better!  Remember to include a brief description with each picture.  You can either scan and e-mail them to any of the addresses below or send copies in with your questionnaire.

We will be selling t-shirts at the reunion for around $10 so be sure to visit the website below or join  us on facebook for more details and pre-ordering information.

The new Hampton Inn in Wiggins is holding 20 rooms for our class for October 14th and/or 15th.   The release date is September 23rd so book early.  They have offered us a group discount rate of $79 per night for double queen rooms.  This rate includes a complimentary breakfast and the rate will expire on September 23rd. You can make your reservations at www.wigginssuites.hamptoninn.com or call them at 601.528.5255.  Be sure to give them our code (CHXSHS) in order to access the reserved rooms and get the special rate.

The Best Western in Wiggins is also holding 20 rooms for us and we are working on getting a discounted rate so let them know that you are attending the reunion when you book your room.  Note that the Hampton Inn is a non-smoking hotel and the Best Western primarily has smoking rooms reserved. You can contact the Best Western at www.bestwesternmississippi.com or  601.928.1616.  They also have a complimentary breakfast.

Finally, if you would like to join the reunion planning committee or help out in any way, please let us know – the more the merrier!

We hope that you will make plans to join us and help make our 20 year high school reunion unforgettable! See you soon!

REUNION POEM

Reunion Poem

Twas the night of my class reunion and all through the house
I checked in each mirror and begged my poor spouse
to say I looked great, that my chin wasn’t double
and he lied through his teeth just to stay out of trouble.

I swallowed his words, hook, sinker and line
and entered the banquet hall feeling just fine.
Somehow I’d expected my classmates to stay
as young as they were in that long ago day.

We hugged our “Hellos” but, like me, through the years,
they’d added gray to their hair and pounds to their rears.
But as we shared a few memories and told old class jokes,
we were 18 in spirit, though we looked like our folks.

So we turned up the music and dimmed down the lights
Rolled back the years and were young for the night.

5.3.11 Reunion Meeting Update

The Reunion Committee has had their first meeting and it was determined that homecoming weekend would be a good time for our 20 year reunion festivities. We are working on pinning down the exact date and will let you know as soon as we find out from the school. We believe that it will be around the first part of October. We discussed having a roped off area for us at the game Friday night followed by a gathering on Saturday for our families prior to the Saturday night celebration. We have not yet confirmed the location of these events but will let you know as soon as we can confirm availability.

Please help us get the word out and forward this page link to any classmates that you know of that may want to attend the event.  Also, please send us any questions/suggestions/comments that you may have and let us know if you want to help out in any way.
See you soon!
